Cookie Policy

How we use cookies

Ralph & Co uses essential website functions and optional Google Analytics and Meta/Facebook tracking. Optional tracking is off until you consent. You can use the website and enquiry forms without accepting it.

Your choices

The privacy popup offers separate Analytics and Marketing checkboxes, initially unticked. Use “Save my choices” to accept either category, “Reject all optional” to refuse both, or “Accept all optional” to accept both. Use “Cookie settings” on any page to change or withdraw your choices. Closing the popup does not give consent.

Google Analytics loads only after Analytics consent. The Meta Pixel loads only after Marketing consent and only on eligible homepage visits. Rejecting a category stops future collection by that integration and removes its accessible first-party tracking cookies from this website. The page may reload to unload the tracking code. Withdrawal does not erase information already received by a provider or cookies on that provider’s own domains.

Cookies and storage

Storage Purpose Duration
ralph_consent Essential preference cookie recording your separate Analytics and Marketing choices, notice version and choice time. 180 days
ralph_consent_change in local storage Signals a change to other open tabs. Stores the time of the choice, not a visitor identifier. Until replaced or cleared in your browser
_ga and _ga_* Optional Google Analytics identifiers, used only after Analytics consent. Configured for up to 180 days
_fbp; _fbc if present Optional Meta browser or advertising-click identifiers, used only after Marketing consent. Existing identifiers may be read when the pixel runs. Meta generally uses a 90-day lifetime for these identifiers; your browser may shorten it

WordPress may use authentication and security cookies for authorised staff. Enquiry forms use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent abuse, which is separate from optional analytics and marketing. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Providers’ own cookies and account settings are described in their policies.

Analytics — Google Analytics

With your consent, Google receives information about page visits, browser/device characteristics, analytics identifiers, form starts, successful form submissions and clicks on telephone or email links. Network information, including your IP address, is necessarily received when your browser connects to Google. Our event code does not send names, telephone numbers, email addresses or enquiry contents. Page-view events omit query strings and fragments and reduce the referring address to its website origin.

Google advertising signals and personalisation remain disabled, including when you accept Meta Marketing. A telephone/email click does not confirm that a call connected or an email was sent. Successful enquiry events are sent only after the website confirms that a form was accepted.

Marketing — Meta/Facebook Pixel

With your separate Marketing consent, the pixel records eligible homepage visits to help measure Facebook and Instagram advertising and support advertising audiences. Meta receives technical information, including browser and network information and available identifiers, and may associate the visit with your Facebook or Instagram account and use it for advertising under its policies.

Our integration sends a homepage PageView event only. It does not send enquiry submissions, form contents, names or contact details to Meta, and does not run on legal-service pages or enquiry pages. Automatic events and advanced matching are disabled in our integration. To reduce the risk of revealing private information in addresses, the pixel is also suppressed when the homepage URL has a query string or fragment, or the referring URL contains a query string, fragment or non-root path. This limits advertising attribution.

Providers, transfers and your rights

We rely on consent for these optional analytics and marketing purposes. Google and Meta may process information outside the UK, including in the United States, subject to their applicable transfer arrangements. Their retention periods and account controls are separate from the lifetime of our consent cookie. See Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner sites, Meta’s Privacy Policy and Meta’s Cookies Policy.

Our Privacy Notice explains how to contact Ralph & Co and exercise your rights. Your choices expire after 180 days, or sooner if you clear them or we update the notice version. Browser controls can also clear site data. Rejecting tracking does not affect your ability to request legal services.
